I create the structure.
The moment creates the life.
— Catherine koles
I’m Catherine — a fashion and portrait photographer based in Barcelona, working across Europe.
My work begins long before the shutter is pressed.
I think in composition — in lines, balance, negative space, posture, and light. I know what the frame must hold, and what it must leave out.
The structure is deliberate.
Within that structure, I wait for the shift — a breath, a micro-movement, a change in the eyes. The moment between moments, when the image becomes alive.
That balance between precision and life defines my work.
Whether I photograph a person or a product, the principle remains the same: clarity first. The frame is controlled, the lines intentional, the focus unmistakable. Nothing distracts from what needs to be seen.
My images are restrained but never static. Composed, yet alive.
I work with individuals, brands, and editorials who value aesthetic discipline and quiet authority. The goal is not excess, but definition — to present character or product with strength and clarity.
My work has been published internationally, including fashion covers and features.
Across different formats and scales, the priority remains the same — a clear visual hierarchy, where nothing competes with what matters.
